Schindler’s Ark is where 1200 Jews on Schindler’s List were saved, as shown in the film by Stephen Spielberg. Schindler’s Ark formed part of what was the second largest wool factory in Europe, owned by the Low-Beers since 1854. In 1938 they fled the Nazis. The Low-Beer family bought back the ruined factory in 2019 and in partnership with the local community formed the Arks Foundation. They co-designed the project for a museum, textile laboratory and a sustainable community.
